Get your glow – how to have a mini makeover at home

Taking out a little time for yourself from your busy schedule can put a spring back in your step. So whether you’ve got 20 minutes or a couple of hours there are lots of little pampering treats you can enjoy at home to capitalise on that new found you that is emerging from being on plan.

Bathing beauties – There is nothing like a warm, relaxing bath. Just pop in some bubbles and relax with a nice cup of tea. Sheer bliss!

Hands and Toes – A DIY manicure or pedicure can easily be done whilst watching TV on an evening and shouldn’t be reserved just for a special occasion. Nail files, orange sticks, foot files, hand cream and polish can be obtained fairly inexpensively from beauty stores or supermarkets.

Super soft skin – Facial scrubs and masks can rejuvenate skin, especially those ravaged by winter weather. Scrubs can be easily done in the shower or bath and a mask can be applied whilst in that nice warm bath or just as you are preparing for bed.

Make up – Make up is big business and with so many products available it can be hard to know where to start. Ask your friends which products they use, check our product reviews on line and don’t be afraid to try new ones even if you are a little apprehensive. Lots of the new products have fabulous pigmentation meaning colours last longer. Check out tutorials on the famous video sharing site too for handy tips no matter what your age or make up style.

Hair – The winter weather and central heating can play havoc with your hair making it dry and unmanageable. You can buy hair masks to nourish locks but you could just lather up your hair with normal conditioner, wrap in a towel and leave for five minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

We hope that you find five minutes this week to enjoy a little pamper and get your glow!
